Gary,

I live in Las Vegas, Nevada.

I had seen my truck on the streets of Las Vegas once before it came up for sale. Other than that, I had never seen one of these beasts. I had seen some pictures in other Dodge literature and on the internet. I would love to see a cuople of these trucks side by side. While I cannot do it this year, I am giving thought to going to the Vintage Power Wagon Rally next year.

My truck is the single cab, no winch, flat bed dump with a Chelsea PTO, dual saddle tanks and storage boxes. It was being used in a tree cutting business and has homemade wooden sides that are probably 8 feet high. I will be removing these soon. It has warn hubs on the front axle. It appears I am the 4th owner, the truck originally being used on the Nevada Test Site by some Government agency, probably the Department of Energy (no known markings). It was purchased in an auction and then sold to the person I purchased it from. The truck is in remarkably original and good condition.

I do not have power steering, but I know where you are coming from. I have seen a reference to an aftermarket unit in literature that was being listed for sale in a Vintage Power Wagon quarterly publication.

I would think that a crewcab would be perfect for the W500. I would love to see a picture of your truck.

I have not yet decided what to do with the dump bed on my truck. I have been giving thought to a regular flat bed and add the the original PTO and winch.
