No need to be appoligetic for making a good old truck into a modernized great truck. After all if some of these things weren't eliminated from the collectors pool ie. changed, wore out, rusted out or destroyed the ones fixed up by a collector wouldn't be worth as much because by the laws of economics there would be just too many.
