I think that when we are exrecizing our gray matter about subjects such as this, and other assorted stuff that can hurt if it fails, we should plan for the inclusion of a safety factor, say five to one, for example: thus a system being designed for a static pressure of 175 pounds per square inch, should be capable of sustaining 875 psi without bursting. I don't know exactly what the design factors for different materials are, but the info should be fairly readily available, either from a good supplier, or from a manufacturer. I've cleaned up after enough failures, high pressure (2000psi or more) and low, (35-50psi), they are generally messy, and always with some collateral damage. For my $, I'd go for steel; seamless of course. This is not to say that steel won't fail, but it seems to me, it is far better than anything else; and, I don't want to be damaged collaterally.
