The Great Council Fires to honor, preserve and protect the Power Bison will convene August 16-20, 1999 in Ouray, Colorado, in the heart of the San Juan Mountains. The keepers of these beasts will meet with other keepers to share husbandry secrets and renew their individual and collective spirits. Trail drives to shepard these slow and lumbering beasts over high mountain passes will occur daily.
