Yes my Manual says the saferty brake drum should
all ways be warm to the touch but not overly hot to adjust you'll have to remove the drum & put your bolts back in it, sench it down but not to tight,, use your hand and rolltate the
shaft , you should be able rolltate it , if not you need another gaskit becouse the bearings are to tight,make one,, put it all back, roll the shaft, rolls easy good, put the drum back on, tighten the 4bolts the same, easy''then the brake should help to slow down the movement if you can easyly move the shaft by hand , then you'll have to adjust the frist nut 1 half turn , to its hard to turn, but not to hard OK, then you can hook it up, warm up the wench ,then pull out the cable ,and spin it back in, you mite need 2or3 guys one for the cable, one to correctly spool the wench, and your self to keep a hand on the brake drum to make sure it does'nt get too hot,, remember, warm to the touch, them replace your Oil with some 90 weight,, OK BILL""
