This is right from the ’53 Dodge manual:
a. improperly operating clutch
b. sliding gear tight on shaft splines
c. insufficient chamfer of sliding gear teeth
d. burred mainshaft splines
e. damaged synchronizing unit
f. improper adjustment of shifting linkage
g. worn or sprung shifter rails
Also incorrect gear oil.
