You have recieved good advice so far, I just want to add a couple of thoughts. First this forum is not the place to locate a cheap PW. The people who prowl this site know and understand the value of these fine relics. These same people are not apt to "give" one away. Your best bet here is to find a "project" that someone has lost interest in. On the other hand, to the non-PW fanatic these are simply "old trucks". This is where you'll find a cheap truck. There still are a few sitting out in fields, behind barns etc. Ask around, let everyone know what you're looking for. It takes time, but after a while word will spread, people will call. Second, I've paid anywhere from $2000-$3000 for a running, drivable?, PW to as low as $130 for a parts truck. I've paid about $1000 for complete non-running PWs. Good luck, I do understand the fever to get a PW. Here is where patience pays big dividends though.
