Ken, Second & Third series fenders are the same. They have a mounting flange & they bolt straight to the bedsides. The First series have no flange & they get bolted up through the inner bed fenders. It's tough to describe but if you could unbend the flange on a second series fender you'd have a first series fender.
They are very complicated to make & it is unlikely anyone will ever make them as an exact reproduction. The fenders have more shape to them than appears at first glance & they would require mamoth amount of tooling to fabricate. I took one to Renato here in Vancouver & he agreed to build them for $1200 per fender! I doubt there will be guys lining up but that's what they would cost to build as an exact reproduction.
