Look on the trans for a blue data plate, or engage in 5th gear, mark the input shaft and the output shaft, then rotate the input shaft, in one revolution of the input shaft, the output shaft will either rotate one full turn only (Direct drive or DD)or the output shaft will turn more than one full revolution, (thus making it a OD overdrive 5th.) Good luck!! I am looking for either the NP540-3 OD or a NP545-1 , 2, or 3 OD trans....
