A friend of mine in Salt Lake City has had several sets of the michelin XL radials recapped with Bandag caps, he has a set with a decent 'all season' tread as well as a very radical off road tred. He has had excellent results on highway, he says they ride better with the caps than with the original XL pattern tread..He has run them up to 70 mph with no problems, he also uses 'equal' (powder tire balancing material) thus he has no shimmys! (My michelins have 'equal' in them too...they ride great on the M37 at speed near 60 mph!!
