Eeeek, Gordon Many runs the highly-respected Power Wagon Advertiser - I'm Gordon McMillan (in Falkirk, Scotland) and I run the WW2 Dodge Forum. I'll admit having two Gordon M'S is a touch confusing.

WC53's were pretty much all the 1942 pattern, saving things like grille and blackout light changes, but I don't think they were all made in 1942....

You'll find some articles at the link below. I think the main feature of the Carryall is that it has a lot of contruction and design held over from the 1930's in the body, which few of the other Dodges did. Things like factory leading, the roof seal, and the rear bodywork generally. Only thing to avoid is buying one with too many major components missing.
