I put "D-O-D-G-E" letters I stole from an old D100 Judd has, to put on the front of the hood of my M-37 (you can kind of see them in the photo, they had the same beveled back I needed, and I was tired of people asking, "What year's your Jeep?!?"). There was never meant to be any letters on the front, therefore I had to make my own holes. And on some of the holes there's just no room between the metal skin and structure metal behind it to get a nut on the back of the peg. At the local autoparts store there's this clay like substance (comes in a tube, looks like a roll of quarters) that's suppose to be as good as JB-Weld. Since you can knead this stuff (like clay) I made little balls of it, and stuffed it up behind the metal folds and squished it over the pegs. Once it dries, it holds up pretty well!! For a temporary fix, until you take the cowling off later, that might work!! You don't have to get your fat hand and a wrench up there, just reach up, feel where the pegs are and smoosh a wad of that stuff on the back. Even a kid you employee might be able to do that better than getting the little nut on the back!

It might work! My letters are still on the front! Good luck!
