I had a similar problem replacing mine. Tried every u-joint anyone could come up with. Thet were all too big. Finally took it with me to Tractor Supply and found one on the shelf that matched. A #6 yoke as I recall. I came to the conclusion that the shaft had been replaced at some point with an agricultural shaft assy. Good luck!
