No body is on my @$%& List Jonas. But being about 80% done with this project it is a little late to say OH neat truck let me start over and see if I can buy that one now. I have only spent 6-7000.00+ and a month of my time building this one?? They have a list of regulations 1/4 inch thick for these trucks to follow to be paid to use them. No way would that set up meet them so it would have to be rebuilt any way. First off it would have to be licenced and street legal, DOT Bumper, over head warning lights, smaller tank, different type of pump, seat belts, back up alarm, work lights, insured, hoses, fittings, nozzles, tool boxes, dump shute, 2 1/2 inch fill and drain pipe. 2-1 1/2" NH outlets, Hose reel, 30' 2 1/2 inch NH hose, 200' of 1 1/2" NH hose, shovel, polaskie, warning reflectors, 4/way warning lights, turn signals, DOT Inspected, mud flaps, fire extinusher, first aid kit, no broken glass, wind sheild washer system, the list goes on and on. So it is easier to build one from scratch with a newer truck then buy a older one tear it apart and start over and add all those things to it. 4,000 gals is to big for the tenders they want, Type 3- 1,000 or Type 2- 2,500 gals ones. You can have a bigger tank but don't get paid for it unless you have at least 1,000 or 2,500 gals in size. These are our inter agency rules for this area and may differ in different states. So why haul 4,000 gals worth of weight and insurance for it, not being paid more? The difference in insurance alone would eat up anything you saved on the Military truck in less than 2 years. I am just looking at it from a bussiness stand point not having a neat military truck to drive around. If it was just for my place it would be different I would buy a old big 5 ton tanker and be done with it not even licence it nor insure it and not take it off my property. Mark H.
