Jim, I know very little about the Dodge aspect of this issue. The input shaft on the larger of the two used in 540's used on Chevys, is a 1 3/8" 10 spline, as I recall. So all the different dia clutches are available for it, used in Chevy variations. The Flywheel is what determines what dia clutch/s you may use. Chevys go out to 12" on the clutch dia. You must measure the P/P holes in the flywheel, to determine what size clutch to use. I'd use the largest possible.

The most important aspect of Bellhousing size, is flywheel size, not clutch size.

What can you do to match things up? Many things. Besides mixing and matching clutch, P/P, and flywheel, you can change the 540 input shaft and bearing housing, to any of several available, to match your other 3 parts, and your crank. Think in terms of numbers, not Manufacturers.

The T/O brg is the least of your worries. Valero is the best T/O brg I have found. It is self centering, made to spin all the time, and is sealed and permanently lubricated. They make them in all sizes. They are more expensive than a standard T/O Brg. They are not mandatory.

Good Luck. Thanx Will Liebscher
