Put oil in the pump so it has a good seal and will prime fast. Pull the spark plugs out and crank the engine till you have presure with out compresion or spark best if you fuel line is disconected from the fuel pump (tank side) so you won't get fuel in the cylinders. Your engine should have been put together with assembly lube also if just rebuilt. If not I would presureized it through a oil gallery plug to make sure the bearings are coated with oil first. By cranking it with no compresion it will turn over easy and not load the bearings. Presure should come up fast if your oil pump is good and primed with oil first. Mine held 30+ pounds just using the starter turning it over the first time. Mark H.
