When I lunched mine they had to get an axle from the junk yard and set up the bolt pattern to match, weld the old holes and make new ones to match the wheel. Might want to think about getting a new rear and front end, as the wheel pattern was onl about 3 or 4 years for those models. As you guessed I have a 74 and got new axles just because of the problem you are having.
