There should be a big winch at the front of the bed, and the winch shaft sticks out the side of the truck so you can hand crank it to spool cable on or off the drum much faster than doing it with the engine.

You can also use the protruding section as a cathead winch on it's own, but not with any great load.

The construction is almost identical to my 1944 K43 Chevrolet Telephone Signals truck, including all these features.

I can't see from the images, but has it got a hatch with a mirror periscope above the drivers head too, so he can see what the boom is doing when it's at the rear without turning round?

More toys than a Christmas store these things....
