mine is/was galvanized in fact I just cleaned it up today inside and outside and coated the inside with Bill Hirsch's tank coat/prep. I am still thinking about using some Eastwoods tank tone spray paint on the outside. It is too shiny in my opinion after cleaning it up the galvanizing came off
