I have 1956 FFPW that I am trying to figure what to to with it when my Carryall is complete. I am think of making it into a super off road truck using modern equipment. However, I need help on ideas of
what would make the Ultimate PW for off road. I would like to approach this design as if Dodge were going to make a limited run
today, 2003, and how it would turn out. They would gather their engineers and some notable off road drivers for input. The resulting Power Wagon would be something to contend with. For this discussion, nothing is out of bounds except that the Cab and
Chassis MUST be used. Everything else is up for modification to create a truck for off road, rock, mud, logging roads. A Truck that will take you anywhere, and bring you back. It must be tough and bullet proof. I welcome all suggestions on design, however with your suggestion, please explain WHY you make that suggestion. All parts must be available, and if used on a different brand or model truck, please indicate what that truck is. The resulting Power Wagon would have the Standard FFPW Cab/Nose, but as expected, everything else would be rought up to current off road equipment. For example if Dodge built a New Special Model, they would not use a NP 200 Transfer Case, or would they and why ?

I will keep records and tabulate the findings and Post what the consencus feels would make the Ultimate Off Road PW.

The following are areas that should be addressed;
Engine Make/Power, Diesel or Gas
Clutch
Transmission
PTO
Drive Shafts
Axles front and Rear
Power or Manual Steering and Make
Brakes
Complete suspension
Wheels, SIze and Type
Tires
Seats
Roll Bar
Winch Front and Rear, Make and Type
Fuel Tank
Skid Plates
Additional Cross Members
Attitional frame Strength
Box Frame
Differentials Ratio
Rear Body, Express Box, Low Custom Express Box, Flat Bed ??
Should it have Running Boards
Fenders, possible heavy diamond plate to take abuse, PW Style
Lights
Seat Belt Restraints
Lock Out Hubs
Emergency Brake
Swivel Frame or Conventional Frame
Front and Rear Bumpers
Top Road Speed 45 MPH
Must fit a 102 inch wide Trailer
What name would Dodge Brand this new Updated Power Wagon
What color would Dodge offer
Anything else you can think of for the Ultimate Off Road PW

This should be interesting, and It just might turn out into a real Power Wagon. Thanks for your interest

Paul
