I don't have my WC 53 here so i can't measure, but the easiest way to fit the floor hardware is to have the wood in place and then drill up from underneath through some of the captive nuts - I seem to remember that wo or more of the plates have one screw that goes through the wood into captive nuts in the crossmembers.
It really would be best to drop the fuel tank too, as the rear seat mountings are right above that.
