I agree. My plan is to put my truck back to original as best I can. The thing to understand that most of these trucks were basically farm equipment. The body welds aren't pretty, the paint was crap, and the wiring was less then premimum. Heck most circuits weren't even fused. From what I have gathered so far is that the big dollar trucks are the ones that are as close to stock and original as possible. A guy that I work with has a 68 Shelby GT500 convertible and he was giving the gears because I wasn't going to spend 10,000 dollars for a paint job. This guy has over 80 grand into this car and it is still not on the road. I basically told him that the crappiest paint job today was probably better then the paint that originally came on the truck. I for one will apprecitate a nice restored Power Wagon that gets driven over a trailer queen. What is the point is going completely overboard on the project that you will never recover your costs or it is so prefect you are afraid to drive it. But that is just my 2 bits worth.
Cheers!
