Hi Rick, I had similar problems with my battery when I installed a 350 with AC as well. I put my battery behind the bumper next to the winch in a custom made battery box. The box is the same height as the bumperette and mounts to the back side of the bumper on the front, and to the frame. The box is on the passenger side and is completely protected. I made a lid which comes off with a single nut for access. The position is great for jumping or being jumped and leaves the running boards open. Pauls setup is nice but I don,t like the battery on the running board. Hope this gives you another option. Alan Koester
