If I remember correctly, the Supreme Court in Reno NV allowed the road to be re-opened in 2000 because the forest circus had closed it off with some rather large boulders. The road is currently posted with county road number signs citing RS-2477. Like I said, on our last trip, there were no postings by anyone that indicated any respricted or prohibited travel, And the county commissioners have given us full blessing on driving in there no matter what the reason...thus, I assume the right of way IS open.
