Actually the stock muffler is very restrictive. I would find a 2" inlet and 2" outlet muffler. Any auto parts could come up with that. If you want a stock muffler VPW is one of the few places to get it. No one makes a 2" in 1.75" out muffler. That means you can stuff more in than you can get out the back. One of the first things to improve the "performance" of these engines flat 6 is to go with a bigger or dual exhaust. Next comes dual 1bbl carbs and possibly a cam. These engines in stock configuration just do not breath very freely which take a lot of the HP away from you.
