Do you just not want to get the tranny rebuilt or pick one up @ a junkyard?
Right now I would take a guess that you have a 727 hooked to a NP-203(full-time transfer)
Is this a big block or a small block? The difference is in the transmission and how it bolts to the engine. If by chance you have a 440, the trailduster will **most likely** only have a 360 in which you cannot take the trans from one and put in the other. When you do go to a divorced case, you will most likey need new driveshafts made as the wheelbase is different and your transfer case will be farther towards the rear because of the 3rd shaft. If your taking engine as well, then all you would need are driveshafts.

I don't know why someone said no divorced transfer cases as there are plenty in all makes. If you do need to move the cross-member, you should find that all the necessary holes are already in the frame.

Ask away if you have more questions!
