This is the way it has to be done after looking at the mounts for the leaf springs. They are on part of the rail that is not as tall as the area it would be moved to. Read what I posted to Paul below on the GMC Site. I also talked to a shop that builds the fire tenders around here and also fabercates all the big stuff in our town and they said no problem welding it. It will cost me about 1,500.00 to have it done with all the extra frame parts they need to make for the splice. That part bums me out Cost wise but at lease they would put there name on it and do it right. Moving the rear end forward would cost a bunch more than that they told me do to all the fabercating to do the mounts and frame cross members supporting it. Mark H.
