Got this note today, sounds like a good cause, wish I lived closer :-)

Hi!. Some Dodge Power Wagon owners were in Jarbidge before the 4th of July and drove over the washed out, unrepaired portion of the Jarbidge Road. They went all the way to the Snowslide Gulch Trailhead where the road ended before the flood. The Jarbidge Shovel Brigade has been trying to get the Forest Service off the county's back so it can finish repairs it started in 1998 when a flurry of lawsuits stopped the county repairs.

Right now there is a two door outhouse at Snowslide Gulch, which is running over. The Jarbidge Shovel Brigade has offered to go up and empty the outhouse with manual labor free of charge. The Forest Service wants to bring in a helicopter at $10,000 or more to do the job.

The members would have to carry the waste about a quarter mile in sealed containers and dump it into a waiting tank on a trailer. No one here really has a strudy vdhicle with the right rubber that will go all the way to the trailhead like the Dodge owners did earlier. People are driving up there on their ATV's.

We are wondering if there are some Dodge Power Wagon owners who would like to get some PR for themselves and their club by coming to Jarbidge to tow the trailer with the tank on it all the way up to the outhouse so we don't have to pack the stuff down. We could load the tank on the trailer (less than 200 gallons) and pull it back down where the waste can be disposed of.

The date has been picked as Oct. 18, a Saturday. The Associated Press has been involved in our activities since the beginning and they may want to do a story on "Cleaning out the Outhouse!" There will definitely be pictures and local publicity in Elko and Southern Idaho. If there are Power Wagon owners who would like to participate they can get back to me. Thanks.
