southern Maryland, near the Chesapeake Bay. I rarely see them as copperheads are mainly nocturnal, but the king snake flushed this one out of a wood pile. I am going to have to move the fire wood farther AWAY from the house!
BTW as of this writing, the king snake has eaten 1/3 of the copperhead
