Something's been bothering me for a while now.

I think I read a quote by a former Chrysler engineer in the Hemmings book of pick up trucks, in the article about the PW (featuring Bill Garlands truck, I believe) about how it would've cost too much to re-engineer the WDX~WM300 for the slant six.

Okey, maybe so. But if that's the case, why is it that the wonderful folks at UglyTruckling (and others, I'm sure) managed to figure out how to put the 318 in? and so many folks have done it with, relatively speaking of course, a fair amount of ease? Didn't Chrysler think of that? or what?
