When I bought my 68 FFPW is was an ex fire dept. brush truck. They had had the wheels professionally modified, and installed 15-38.5-16.5 Ground Hawg tires. While the truck look cool, it is nearly impossible to turn when still, and very rough to drive on the road. I am considering returning to stock wheels and 900-16 NDT tires. This is a show truck, not a mudder. I carry 1100 LB of steel plates between the tailgate and rear axle. This helps the ride, but not the feeling of control. I am looking for opinions if the stock tires will improve the ride and steering. Thanks.
