My '53 B-3 shimmies occasionally also. It is the front wheels. At first, I thought it was when the non-directional tread gets out of synch. on the left and right tires. I then discovered a loose tie-rod bolt on the passenger side while the front end was jacked up off the tires. Haven't tried it since fixing that since my engine is still out for rebuild!
So check those tie-rod ends. Hope this helps.
