The frames for the 300 series (Sweptlines) were straight in front of the cab, they didn't have the arch over the front axle, that allowed the larger front fenders and resulted in the 'filler' panel under the grill. The WM was an extension of the WDX Civilian flat fender Power Wagon nomenclature. The WDX was suceeded by the W300, however in 1957 the 'conventional' sheetmetal cabbed Power Wagon (Power Giant Era) was added to the line-up. It would have been too confusing to have two trucks designated W300, so the Civilian PW became the W300M, then the WM300.
The W600, as noted below, was in the Lifestyle Era 72-92 body style, built in the years noted below.
