Good shop practice is to point rotor straight ahead before removing distributors- that way you'll know how to put it back in without having gross timing problems. On the 230, just remove the one bolt that holds thin plate to block, twist body while pulling up.If it has been removed in the last decade, it should come right out. If not, proceed as with any other stuck part ( snap-on makes a slide hammer attachment just for distributors). Guys, don't be shy about removing distributors, good tuneup shops did every point change on the bench- you'll also want to lube the dist works, and it is much easier to work on those little bitty nuts and screws in a vice than bent over under the hood, and you've gotta time it again anyway....
