sending unit

I have a 1969 D-500 with the fuel tank behind the seat that needs a sending unit. No help from local dodge dealer or NAPA. Does anyone know the part number or a good substitute. I have a 1955 CP3 power wagon, so I guess that qualifies me to ask this question on the power wagon page? Don't flame me to much please.
