Yesterday my late uncles B2PW went for a much anticipated drive on "improved roads". From 1973 to 1999 the truck stayed on his family homestead property doing farm related tasks. My uncle sold me the truck in late 1999 and passed away in Feb 2000. He was a WW2 veteran radio operator from Northern Africa and Southern Europe. He and his brother bought the truck new in 1950 and was made into a dumptruck in the early 50's with the addition of a St.Paul 1.5 yd dumpbox. For about 20 years the truck hauled sand and gravel for my uncles business. The last 3 years I've slowly fixed the problems that are common to a truck that has sat idle and yesterday the second owner truck went out again with a very happy operator. I don't know who was more excited, me or my three kids! When my uncle warned me about it being slow I didn't understand fully until having the truck spot a hill long before I did. There were a few restored muscle cars out driving through town yesterday and those drivers were really eyeballing the truck as we drove past. Having this forum is a great tool to help wade through the issues of owning a Power Wagon and my thanks to Joe Cimoch and all who make this site such a pleasure to participate in.
