Jon, don't know if you're a Christian or not, and I'm not going to push any religious beliefs on any man, but do you remember the beer commercials where there's a bunch of guys sitting around a campfire, all grimy from the day of fishing and camping, and they toast with their beer saying, "It doesn't get any better than this!!"
I thought... "JEEZE, I hope it does!!!" Now I keep a little card in my wallet that simply says, "It gets better than this." And on those days when you get off of work late, and you hit all the red lights on your way home, and the bills are late getting paid, and the car breaks down, and you forgot something-or-other for your spouse... you have to pull that card out and remember, "It gets better than this."
The thing with being a Christian though is remembering that when the day is sailing along and you get an unsuspected raise at work, and your wife makes your favorite meal for supper, and your teenager tells you that they Love you (for no reason!), that's when you also have to pull that card out and remember, "It gets better than this!"
I believe in a Kingdom of Heaven, and we're just here for a short while. It's up to you to make the best of it and let life's little 'trials' just... go... away...
