I had this truck on Ebay last year and you might have seen it. It didn’t meet the reserve so I decided to lower the price considerably. I need to move on: I have too many hobbies and interests.

The truck is a 1969 W500 Power Wagon crew cab. It has an interesting history. It was custom built for a fellow who wanted to travel the Alaska Highway. The following is a list of some of its interesting features.

318 -3
Edelbrock 4 bbl
Limited slip rear
5 speed O/D trans
Bostrom seats
10,000 lb winch
Warn lockouts
Many extra parts
10 ½ foot utility bed.
Two 75 gal. saddle tanks with custom-made passenger-side retractable step.
There is also a custom-made Huntsman camper specially designed for this truck. Unfortunately, it has a leaky roof and is under a tarp.

This truck is rust free. The underside and engine compartment are very clean. The truck never saw commercial duty and the bed and all compartments looks new. Note that in the picture one of the cabinet doors is off. It was removed to fix a hinge and is now ready to be remounted.

The clutch is slipping a bit and I haven’t had time to deal with it. I could arrange to have it fixed before it is picked up.
The headliner is coming undone and needs re-gluing.

Total mileage on truck is about 61,000. It was completely gone through at about 35000 by the former owner, a certified airline mechanic. He rebuilt the engine, trans, transfer case and rear axle. He didn’t open the front axle since it is infrequently used. It works flawlessly.

Everything on the truck functions properly, with the exception of the clutch. Tires all have lots of tread but a bit of dry rot. I have never had a problem with them.

This is a very useable truck, not just a collectable. It can cruise at 65 mph with rpm’s at about 3000. Gas mileage is what you should expect with a truck of this size: 8 – 8 ½ unloaded and around 6 pulling my 5000 lb horse trailer. Maybe that’s on a par with a Ford Expedition. The truck uses no oil.
