I have a book that I think is called "Heavy Duty Book of American Light Duty Pickups," and I seem to remember something funny with the weights listed in that book for the WDX - WM300 series trucks, as well. I don't remember what the discrepancy was, and I don't have the book in front of me, but I seem to remember that the weights listed seemed low compared to what I have read in the literature, and compared to what I have seen on the scales with my own Power Wagon.

I had always been under the impression that the empty Power Wagon with a winch and box-type bed weights about 5200 - 5300 lbs. And when I went to a rock quarry, I had my truck weighed prior to picking up the rock, and I remember it figured out to be right in the range I just quoted, after I subtracted the weight of my passenger and me (and maybe the fuel).

One thing I can think of, is that maybe my book lists weights for trucks that don't have ANY fluids in them (i.e., no gas, no engine oil, no anti-freeze, no gear oil, etc....). I think all of that can add up to about 175 lbs, give or take.

One other possible source for any discrepancy is that some tires weigh a LOT more than others. The difference can be in the number of plies (8 vs. 10) or in other differences. My old, low mileage NDT's mounted on the rims weighted in at about 100 lbs each (10-ply), while my new Michelin XZL's mounted on the same rims weigh about 150 lbs a piece. That makes a big difference!

Anyway, I'm done rambling for the moment. That's my input.
