Traction tread type Tires are designed for traction not longevity
a bias ply traction tread tire will usually have a life of 60 to 75 % that of a straight
rib highway tread and will usually use about 20 % more fuel - that noise / hum from the tread as you run down the highway is your tires wearing away
radial ply tires have a belt under the tread that gives more stability to the tread blocks
but the wear and gas consumption ratios are about the same
ps Concrete highways eat up tires faster than
macadam
trips to the wally eat up hoops every time you turn the wheels at low speed to park
munchie munchie on your big treads
extreme off road - sharp rocks, etc. will also
eat up your hoops in a hurry
