Generally, the Selectro brand is the most rugged of the various brands. It is unusual, but not unheard of, to have a spline gear strip.
Whenever I sell a pair to my M35 customers, I always state that they are not mil-spec, and not to be abused. I also advise customers to carry the original drive flanges and hardware with them into the field, so that they don't have to walk home.
