Sounds dumb but are you sure you have both hubs locked? If you have one locked and the other not it will free wheel the front end. Jack up the front end and leave it in gear and lock it in 4x4 then turn one wheel by hand the other one should turn also if the drive shaft can't. If you spin one wheel and the other dose not that is your problem. Mark H.
