I like the salt theory, but I don't think it works. If the salt theory is true, then ALL cars and trucks would rust more on the left side than the right side. I doubt this is the case.
I think the rust is more likely a function of how the truck was parked. We know that pretty much all Powerwagons have been parked for some significant period at some point in thier lives.
Sorry for all this theorizing... I'm giving my dissertation proposal tommorrow morning, I am in the theorizing mode right now. lol
