In the cause of intellectual honesty, I hereby acknowledge that "Jeeps" exist - after all, Mercedes-Chrysler Corporation builds them. (Must we follow this thought and welcome Unimogs into the family?)

Yes, I hear folks referring to Suzuki, Mitsubishi, Toyota, and all other manufacturers' boxy 4x4's as "Jeeps." The same people who do this also use Scotty "Kleenex", have Westinghouse "Frigidares", and drink "Cokes" out of blue cans. Even John Wayne called the M-151 MUTT a "Jeep." We use assigned copyrighted product brand names to identify all products in their generic family. But did you ever hear a dealer or manufaacturer of those "generic others" jump up and say, "This is not a Jeep"? That's one for the "Jeeps."

Let all us POWER WAGON folks accept the "Jeep" as the "other 4x4". The "flat-fender" Power Wagon was never built in a 4x2 version like the "Jeep" and remains the original and only true American 4x4 pick-up.

P.S. I'm enlightened and politically correct. Let me go on record as saying I have a friend with a "Jeep."

P.P.S. Any of you who are wanting to get rid of a "wench" can send her over for me to check out.
