Back in the 1970's some guy at Chrysler decided to put the gas tank on the left up beside the "c" shaped frame of my '79 PW. After 20 years of spongy crap got in there, the bottom of the "c" is about half as thick as the top. This is along the roughly 40" from the rear cab mount to the front spring hanger. There is no cracking or bending yet but I have the box off so I might as well fix it now. I have been told that you can weld parallel or at shallow angles to the frame, but not perpendicular. I was wondering how anyone else who had the same problem delt with it. Thanks alot for your time.
