Two suggestions:
1) Use M37 headlight buckets, they are much easier to find and cheaper, and are rubber insulated. They don't break at the base like civilian PW buckets. They are not original but they are close.
2) Use Hella halogen H4 12V headlights. They are about 3-4 times as bright as the sealed beams and are available in even higher wattages up to 100, 130, 150, even 180W high beam. The higher wattages burn out quickly, >100W not recommended.
