The T-10 crashboxes in these things can humble the
best of us. I've been a professional driver for
about 25 years. I learned on a 5-speed spicer
crashbox in a firetruck and have driven 4,5,6,
8,9,11,13, 5spd reverse patterns, Alisons, Alisons
w/ 4spd. brownies, 5spd w/2spd rear ends. 13 spd.
w/2 spd. rear ends,13 spds w/4 spd. brownies and
NONE of them are as tought to drive as these old
PW's. I had a friend laughing at me ginding my
way down the road one day so I slid over and let
him drive. He'd been driving for over 30 years
at the time, and one block later, he pulled into
a "Stop-and-Rob" and got out slammed to door,
called the truck everything but "Dodge" and
refused to drive anymore. Hope that make you
feel better. I had this same tranny in an IH
and guess what!? Yup...crash, scrape, griiiind.
Double clutch, not clutching, RPM matching
it's still a challenge.
