I'm looking at a '71 3/4 ton PW (convential cab of course) not for restoration or anything just for general work and snow plowing. The question is I've heard bad things about chrysler products from this era and I need something pretty reliable. Is the 383 a good powerplant or just a gas hog. Another issue is that this rig is a ex-forest service truck, I know how we treated our rigs in the Marine Corps (which is why I shy away from surplus vehicles) so is this a tough truck or what? It runs, O.K. body, 85k on the speedo, which I belive is original. Post your thoughts.
