If it's a model W200 it's a 3/4 ton. If it's full time 4wd its also a 3/4 ton. Your 79 Ramcharger has a 9 1/4 rearend which came in 1/2 tons that year. A 3/4 ton should have a Dana 60 in the rear and a 44 in front. The 44 cover looks similar to the 60 but is smaller. If its a one ton it would have a part time Dana 60 in front and most likely a 70 in back. You can tell if you have a 60 in front by looking on the housing around where the cover bolts on, it will have either a 44 or a 60 on it. These are raised numbers about 3/4 of an inch high. Also the 60 has bolt in ball joints versus press in joints found on the 44 and the steering arm bolt on to the knuckle with 4 bolts on the 60 versus 3 on the 44.
