I'm going to take a shot at this... I believe that the brakes on an M-37 are on an eccentric, whereas they tend not to self lock if installed correctly. Due to this there is a front shoe and a rear shoe for each wheel. The wheel cylinders themselves are of different diameter for the front side and back side. I wish I had more detailed info, but going from memory, garage talk, and heresay, this is all I can offer. Can anyone elaborate or correct my assumption....
